FROM THE FILM ROOM (through games of Sept. 15)
* SDSU was unstoppable on the ground vs Arizona State. Junior RB Juwan Washington recorded seven avoided tackles on 27 rush attempts, gaining 91 of his 138 yards on the ground after contact. Washington now has nine more avoided tackles on rush attempts than any other HB in FBS. 
Sophomore RB Chase Jasmin was also productive: 19 attempts, 112 yards, 88 earned after contact, seven avoided tackles and junior QB Ryan Agnew gained 45 yards on seven QB scrambles and showed off his own elusivity with two avoided tackles of his own. 
* Senior RT Ryan Pope had an outstanding game in week 3. Pope allowed no QB pressures of any kind on 33 pass block snaps and also was the highest graded run blocker on the team according to Pro Football Focus. He was the highest graded player in the game and it graded out as the best all-around performance of Pope's NCAA career. 
* TE Kahale Warring caught all four of his pass targets for 30 yards, hauling in pass receptions while in the coverage of three different Arizona State defenders. In 2018, Warring has an average snap percentage of 70 percent after playing 35 percent of his team's offensive snaps last year. 
* Senior AZT Parker Baldwin made several big time plays in run defense vs Arizona State. Baldwin had three stops on 18 run defense snaps in the game. On the season, Baldwin has a run stop percentage of 9.7% which is currently the second best among safeties in the MW. 

RECAPPING THE ARIZONA STATE GAME (through games of Sept. 15)
* Ryan Agnew became the first quarterback from a non-Power 5 school to beat a nationally ranked team from a Power 5 school in his starting debut since USF's B.J. Daniels against No. 18 Florida State on Sept. 26, 2009.
* SDSU improved to 4-1 against the Pac-12 since the start of the 2016 season. Included in the four wins are two victories against ranked Pac-12 squads (No. 19/19 Stanford on Sept. 16, 2017 and tonight vs. No. 23/25 Arizona State).
* The Sun Devils entered the game ranked first in the country in rushing yards allowed per game (32.5), including only one touchdown on 61 attempts (1.1 avg.). On Saturday, San Diego State rushed for 311 yards and two touchdowns on 58 carries (5.4 avg.).
* SDSU's 311 rushing yards vs. No. 23/25 ASU are the most against an AP Top 25 team this season.  
* San Diego State outrushed Arizona State by 275 yards, its largest margin against a nationally ranked school in its DI history (previous best was 187 vs. No. 13 Florida State on Nov. 19, 1977.
* San Diego State had multiple 100-yard rushers (Juwan Washington – 138, Chase Jasmin – 112) in the same game for the 29th time and for the first time since Nov. 4, 2017. The Aztecs are 28-1 with 18 straight wins when accomplishing the feat (15-0 in Rocky Long era).
* SDSU had a 100-yard rusher in its eighth straight game (nine, 100-yard rushers total), and has one in 25 of its last 30 games since 2016 (32, 100-yard rushers total) and 34 of the 44 games since Jeff Horton took over as the offensive coordinator in 2015 (44, 100-yard rushers total).
* San Diego State won its 38th straight regular-season game when rushing for 200-plus yards.
* The Aztecs now have two of the four lowest rushing yards allowed against AP Top 25 teams this season. SDSU's 36 rushing yards allowed tonight vs. No. 23/25 Arizona State were the third fewest, while the 50 yards allowed at No. 13/13 Stanford were the fourth fewest.
* Arizona State had scored on 64 consecutive red zone trips prior to SDSU stopping the Sun Devils in the second quarter. The last time ASU failed to score in the red zone prior to tonight was in the second quarter at Washington on Nov. 19, 2016.
* San Diego State improved to 17-3 in its last 20 home games dating back to Oct. 3, 2015. During that stretch, the Aztecs have outscored the opposition, 637-363.
* The Aztecs improved to 14-4 in their last 18 games, 20-6 in their last 26 and 33-7 in their last 40.

TOP 25 WINS (through games of Sept. 15)
* Coupled with the victory last season over No. 19/19 Stanford, San Diego State has defeated an AP Top 25 team in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history.
* San Diego State is 2-1 in its last three games and 3-4 in its last seven contests against AP Top 25 teams. That is following a stretch in which the Aztecs were 1-28 in its previous 29 contests against AP Top 25 teams.
* Rocky Long is 3-6 against AP Top 25 teams at San Diego State, while all other Division I era coaches are a combined 6-57.
