SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's tennis head coach Peter Mattera announced today that incoming freshman Alicia Melosch has accepted an offer-of-aid to join the team in the spring of 2019.

"Alicia brings a tremendous amount of high-level tennis experience to our program from Germany," Mattera said. "She has had success at every level in both singles and doubles, and has experience playing as both an individual and as part of very successful teams. She is currently at the top of her age division in the German junior rankings. Alicia will really add to our program as a student-athlete and as a person. We are very fortunate that she has chosen to become an Aztec!"

The La Jolla, Calif., native and dual citizen of the U.S. and Germany is set to join the team for the spring 2019 semester and the 2019 regular season campaign. Melosch graduated in June 2018 from Gymnasium Schenefeld in Schenefeld, Germany.

Melosch joins an Aztec women's tennis program that has seen years of success on the court and in the classroom, boasting 11 conference championships, 74 academic all-MW Conference awards and three Academic All-Americans during Mattera's time as head coach.
