COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Thirty San Diego State student-athletes were honored for their high achievement in the classroom as Mountain West Scholar-Athletes for the 2017-18 school year, the conference office announced today.

The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at SDSU, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.

Swimming and diving led the way with six honorees. Track and field was second with five honorees and football and women's golf each had four. In total, 11 sports were represented.

Earlier in the day, San Diego State had 68 student-athletes earn Mountain West All-Academic status for the spring semester.
