SDSU Student-Athletes To Visit Head Start Program Dec. 11, 2000 SAN DIEGO - Athletes from San Diego State University will be delivering books to the North Park Head Start program Wednesday at 10 a.m. as part of the final chapter of the University's third annual "Book The Q" program. This year marks the first time that the Aztecs have visited a pre-school program. The student-athletes will deliver 300 books to the children and will spend time reading to the pre-schoolers before returning to campus to complete "Finals Week" on Montezuma Mesa. The books are a direct result of SDSU's annual "Book The Q" promotion. The 2000 "Book The Q", presented by the San Diego Union-Tribune, resulted in an all-time high of 20,000 books donated by fans attending the San Diego State-Ilinois football game on Sept. 9th. All of the books from the drive will be delivered to schools throughout San Diego County. |
