Johanna Pfeiffer

Johanna Pfeiffer has been a member of the San Diego State Athletics Department since January of 2014, when she joined the Aztec Club.

As a development coordinator, a position she held for 22 months, Pfeiffer identified new annual fund donors and solicited seven gifts totaling over $54,000, and cultivated major gift and endowment prospects. She was also influential in the creation of the Aztec Varsity Club, which is the official former student-athlete association of SDSU, and helped in the capital campaign that resulted in the construction of the Jeff Jacobs JAM Center, San Diego State's men's and women's basketball practice facility.

In October of 2015, Pfeiffer was elevated to development specialist a role in which she maintained a portfolio of annual and major gift prospects, cultivating and soliciting annual scholarship support. During her time, she secured a $40,000 planned gift for the softball program, a $25,000 multi-year pledge for women's basketball and executed a $25,000 women's soccer fundraising project. In addition to managing the Aztec Varsity Club, Pfeiffer also partnered with SDSU's Academic Support Services to implement a structured career development program, which has assisted more than 200 student-athlete graduates and counting.

Pfeiffer is now director of the Aztec Club, a position she was promoted to in July of 2017. In her expanded role, she analyzes and implements strategies for new contributions to the annual fund, while executing advancement of relationships with prospective donors. Additionally, Pfeiffer leads sport-specific fundraising efforts for assistant coaches salaries, equipment and discretionary needs.

After graduating from Cal Poly where she was a member of the women's soccer team, Pfeiffer attended Louisville where she earned her master's degree. During her time in the Bluegrass State, she was a development assistant for the Cardinal Athletic Fund. Pfeiffer solicited several new memberships through Louisville's men's basketball season-ticket waiting list, secured gifts for the university's baseball stadium expansion project and increased its annual fund donors by 150 in one year for UL's student-athlete scholarship fund.
