Jessica AmerosaJessica Amerosa is in her 12th year as an academic advisor at San Diego State.

She works with the Aztec football team's defensive and special teams players and also is the advisor for the SDSU baseball and softball squads.

Before moving to San Diego, the former Jessica Simmons earned her master's degree in educational psychology with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics at Kansas State in 2006. While in Manhattan, she also was an assistant academic counselor for the Wildcat football team.

Amerosa has a bachelor's degree in sociology and criminal justice from Mississippi State and worked at Butler County Community College from 2000-04, where she was the athletic academic advisor/assistant coordinator of special needs. The El Dorado, Kan., native is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics. Amerosa and her husband, Mathew, reside in San Diego.
