Eddie Padilla started his tenure as a strength and conditioning coach for the 2013-14 and started working with the Aztec women's basketball team in 2015-16. In addition to his duties on the hardwood, Padilla serves as the strength and conditioning coach for the Aztec men's and women's soccer teams, as well as the SDSU women lacrosse and volleyball programs. Padilla received his undergraduate degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in fitness, nutrition and health from San Diego State in 2010 and continued his education on Montezuma Mesa over the next two years, earning a master's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in biomechanics in 2012. Padilla began his coaching career in 2008, serving as an intern with the Aztec strength and conditioning coaches before spending one season as a graduate assistant with the department in 2011-12. After completing his master's degree, Padilla became a full-time staffer at SDSU as an assistant strength and conditioning coach before his promotion to assistant director of strength and conditioning in the summer of 2015. A 2005 graduate of Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, Padilla is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Padilla is married to the former Brandi Jones, who is an assistant coach with the SDSU women's lacrosse team. The couple resides in San Diego with their two sons. |
