|  | Jacob Callahan has worked for San Diego State University since August 2013. He began as a clinical assistant working with the football and women's swimming and diving teams. He is now the assistant football athletic trainer, a position he has held since the 2015 season.Prior to joining San Diego State, Callahan served as the seasonal assistant athletic trainer for the San Diego Chargers after spending the previous two seasons as a student athletic training intern with the organization. He also worked one year as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the UC San Diego working with the baseball and women's swimming and diving teams (2011-12).A San Diego native, Callahan graduated from San Diego State in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. During his time as a student at SDSU, he worked primarily with the football and baseball programs. Callahan completed his Master of Science degree in rehabilitation science from the California University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in 2013. Callahan is a current member of the National Athletic Trainers Association as well as a certified Corrective Exercise Specialists (CES). He currently lives in San Diego with his wife Deborah and their two dogs. |
