Aztecs Earn Mountain West Conference All-Academic Honors
July 15, 2003 SAN DIEGO - A total of 32 San Diego State University student-athletes from seven different spring sports have earned academic all-conference honors, the Mountain West Conference (MWC) office announced. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at SDSU, while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic teams. The Aztec women's track and field squad, which claimed its first ever MWC outdoor team title in 2003, had the largest group of honorees with 13 selections overall, highlighted by five-time All-American junior Nicole Ireland (Las Vegas, Nev.).
