SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State athletic department has announced the promotional schedule for the 2018 football season. The Aztecs will host seven games at SDCCU Stadium for a second consecutive campaign.

SDSU kicks off its home portion of the schedule on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. PT with the 43rd annual KGB SkyShow against Sacramento State. The KGB SkyShow, the largest fireworks show in the area, annually attracts one of the largest crowds of the season, including last year when 46,132 fans showed up to watch San Diego State beat UC Davis, 38-17. The Aztec home opener with the Hornets will also feature a SDSU student tailgate, while serving as SDSU Faculty/Staff Day. Additionally, members from the U.S. Army will receive recognition.

The following week (Saturday, Sept. 15 against Arizona State) will be a “Blackout” game as all fans are encouraged to wear black. San Diego State will also honor the U.S. Marine Corps and first responders.

Staying in America’s Finest City for a third straight week, the Aztecs will host Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. PT on SDSU Family Weekend and High School Band Night. The Scarlet and Black will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and will honor College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers.

In its lone Friday home game of the season, San Diego State plays host to Air Force on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. PT. The newest inductees to the Aztec Hall of Fame will be honored, as will the U.S. Air Force.

The Aztecs follow with San José State on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. PT in their annual Homecoming Game. The contest will be a “Redout” with all fans encouraged to wear red. The U.S. Navy will be honored as well in a game that highlights Fleet Week Classic.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, SDSU and UNLV will play on Veterans Appreciation Day. San Diego State will also honor the U.S. Coast Guard and host a Cheer and Dance Clinic.

The Aztecs end their regular season with a home game against Hawai’i on Saturday, Nov. 24, highlighted by a special pregame ceremony honoring their departing seniors. The game serves as Fan Appreciation Day as dozens of fans will be randomly selected to win prizes throughout the game with a Guard and Twirlers Clinic taking place as well.

Aztec Village, which opens 2 hours, 30 minutes before each home game (note that it will open three hours prior to the SkyShow game on Sept. 8), also will be for the 2018 campaign. Aztec Village is free and open to the public, and features food and beverage vendors, Aztec team appearances, carnival rides, a Kids Zone, photo ops and more.

San Diego State finished 2017 with a 10-3 record, its school-record third consecutive season with at least 10 victories. The Aztecs are one of just seven schools in the nation to win at least 10 games in three straight seasons (also Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin). SDSU is scheduled to return seven starters on offense and seven on defense, along with its kicker and punter.

San Diego State is accepting new account deposits on 2018 season tickets through the Aztec Ticket Office, while current season-ticket holders can also renew their tickets for the 2018 campaign. Fans can purchase tickets through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting SDCCU Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.

The Aztecs kick off their season at Stanford on Friday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. PT.
