SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State baseball team, which claimed its fifth Mountain West Championship in the last six years on Saturday, will play LSU at the Corvallis Regional hosted by Oregon State on Friday, June 1 at 1:00 p.m. to start NCAA tournament action.
SDSU (39-19) earned the No. 3 seed in the Corvallis Regional, its highest since being the No. 3 seed at the Irvine Regional in 2009. No. 2-seeded LSU (37-25) capped its Southeastern Conference Tournament with a 9-1 loss to SEC Tournament Champion Ole Miss on Sunday. It is the first-ever meeting between the Aztecs and Tigers and SDSU's first trip to Corvallis since 2016.
In the other side of the regional, top-seeded Oregon State faces No. 4-seed Northwestern St. at 7:30 p.m. PT on Friday.
The regional features a four-team, double elimination bracket. The game will be broadcast on XTRA 1360 Fox Sports San Diego, ESPNU and streamed on WatchESPN.com.
San Diego State is making its fifth NCAA Regional appearance in the last six years, being one of just two California programs to accomplish that feat, joined by Cal State Fullerton.
