WOODLAND, Calif. -- San Diego State placed seven student-athletes on the all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation lacrosse team, as announced Wednesday by the league office.
Senior Mackenzie Lech picked up her second straight all-MPSF honor, while fellow classmate Elizabeth Rourke garnered her first career all-conference accolade, joining juniors Jill Haight, Harlowe Steele and Kirstie Greenlaw, along with redshirt sophomores Katy Sharretts and sophomore Marissa MacRae.
With their awards, the Aztecs established a program record for most all-MPSF honorees, surpassing the previous standard of three set on four occasions in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
This season's all-conference team consisted of seven attackers, five midfielders, five defenders and two goalkeepers. SDSU had the most all-MPSF picks, followed by UC Davis and Fresno State with six each.
San Diego State will play host to Fresno State in the MPSF semifinal game on Friday, April 27 at 5 p.m. PT.
Below are the seven Aztec selections at a glance:
#5 Mackenzie Lech; Sr.; D; Milton, Ga.
- Team tri-captain who is the Aztecs' leader on defense and is a huge contributor to the squad's transition game.
- Ranks fourth on the team with 23 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, the latter of which is tied for eighth in the MPSF.
- Moved into fifth place in program history with 70 career ground balls.
- Has picked up multiple ground balls in seven different games this year, tying her career-high with four in the season-opener at California (Feb. 11).
- Caused a career-high four turnovers vs. UC Davis (April 8).
#33 Elizabeth Rourke; Sr.; A; Long Beach, N.Y.
- Is tied for the top spot in the MPSF with a team-high 32 ground balls.
- Ranks third on the squad with 36 points, which is seventh in the league.
- Leads the Aztecs with 18 assists, which ranks third in the MPSF and is tied for fifth on the school's single-season charts.
- Has scored multiple goals in four games, including four to lead SDSU in a win at Fresno State to earn MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honors (April 15).
- Has picked up at least one ground ball in 16 of 17 contests, including a career-high five in a victory over Niagara (March 6)
#14 Jill Haight; Jr.; MF; Milton, Ga.
- Leads the team in points (44), goals (35) and draw controls (65), becoming the Aztecs' single-season leader in the latter statistic.
- Tops the MPSF in draw controls and owns the best single-game total in the league this season with a school-record 12 in a victory over Arizona State (Feb. 17).
- Moved into third place on the school's single-season list with 35 goals, which ranks fourth in the MPSF.
- Has recorded three or more goals in six different games this year, including four at Denver (Feb. 23) and vs. Niagara (March 6).
- Two-time MPSF Player of the Week recipient - Offense (March 12), Defense (March 5).
#17 Harlowe Steele; Jr.; MF; Coquitlam, B.C., Canada
- Moved into a tie for fourth place on SDSU's single-season list with 34 goals, which ranks second on the team and fifth in the MPSF.
- Ranks third in the league with 52 draw controls and is tied for seventh with 26 ground balls to go with 12 caused turnovers.
- Ranks 13th nationally with a league-leading .586 shot percentage and has netted three or more goals in seven different games, including a career-high five vs. Arizona State (Feb. 17).
- Captured MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honors on three occasions this season (Feb. 12, Feb. 19, March 26).
#20 Kirstie Greenlaw; Jr.; A; Highlands Ranch, Colo.
- Is enjoying a breakthrough campaign with 24 goals scored, which ranks third on the team and is tied for ninth in the MPSF.
- Has scored multiple goals in eight different games, including four hat tricks vs. Presbyterian, Boston College, Wofford and Fresno State.
- Owns the team's best free-position percentage at .857 (6-7).
- Collected one ground ball in six straight games earlier in the year.
#36 Katy Sharretts; RS-So.; GK; Bel Air, Md.
- Has emerged as the backbone of the Aztec defense in her first year as a starter, setting a single-season school record with 159 saves, which leads the MPSF and ranks 10th in the nation.
- Is also on pace to set a single-season program standard with a .466 save percentage, which is tops among conference starters and ranks 35th in the country.
- Has made double-digit saves in nine matches, including a career-best 14 on five separate occasions, which is tied for fourth on the school's single-game charts.
- Ranks second on the team with 26 ground balls.
- Collected two MPSF Defensive Player of the Week awards (Feb. 26, March 26).
#10 Marissa MacRae; So.; D; San Diego, Calif.
- Marks up on the opponents' top player and is an integral part of the Aztec transition game.
- Has started all 17 games for SDSU this year, scoring two goals.
- Has collected 15 ground balls this season, scooping up two in six different games.
- Has seven caused turnovers on the year, including a career-high two at Denver (Feb. 23)
