COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The San Diego State men's tennis team received the No. 6 seed at this week's Mountain West Championship, as announced Monday by the league office. The Aztecs will serve as host to the eight-team tournament, April 26-28, at Aztec Tennis Center.

SDSU (5-19, 3-4 MW) will square off against No. 3 seed New Mexico on Thursday, starting at 6 p.m. PT. If the Aztecs emerge victorious over the Lobos (15-10, 4-3 MW), they will face the winner of the Fresno State-Air Force match on Friday, beginning at 3 p.m. PT.

Thursday's other first-round matches include No. 1 seed Utah State vs. No. 8 seed Boise State at 9 a.m.; No. 4 seed UNLV and No. 5 seed Nevada at noon, followed by the aforementioned Bulldogs-Falcons clash at 3.

SDSU will be looking to avenge a tough 4-3 loss to New Mexico in their regular-season encounter earlier this month at Aztec Tennis Center. After claiming the doubles point, the Scarlet and Black was unable to squelch a Lobo rally, as the visitors captured four of six singles matches to escape with the win.

The two teams also battled one another in the opening round of the MW Championship last in Boise, Idaho, with San Diego State prevailing by a 4-2 count.

All of this weekend's matches at Aztec Tennis Center will be streamed live via the Mountain West Network and will feature live scoring updates via Tennis-Ticker.

Tickets for MW Championship (cash only) are available for $5 each day and $3 for youths (ages 3-14) and students with a valid ID.
