SAN DIEGO - San Diego State Director of Intercollegiate Athletics John David Wicker has announced the promotions for three SDSU Athletics employees – Scott Horvath, Lisa Pearson and Todd Greenbaum.
Horvath has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Information Technology. He is in his 18th year at San Diego State and his 12th working with Aztec athletics. As the department’s manager of all computer systems, he has implemented computer upgrades, developed and maintained web streaming services and brought in a centralized storage system, which allows staff, coaches and teams to better collaborate. Horvath has also managed the football coaches’ communications on game days for the past 14 seasons.
“Scott has been essential to the fabric of San Diego State Athletics,” Jenny Bramer, SDSU’s Executive Associate Athletic Director, praised. “His expertise in technology improves our system’s efficiency, makes our coaches better connected and helps provide visibility to our student-athletes. As Assistant Athletic Director, Scott will continue to stretch our coaches beyond their current abilities in technology to the benefit of all of our student-athletes.”
Pearson has been named Associate Athletic Director of Marketing and New Media. She came to SDSU in January of 2016 and oversees all marketing and branding efforts for the department. Specifically, she develops and implements marketing, advertising and promotional plans for the Aztecs’ football and men’s basketball teams. Since her arrival, there has been a dramatic increase in football’s season ticket sales and their average home attendance. Prior to coming to SDSU, Pearson held marketing positions at the University of Iowa (2011-16) and the University of Kentucky (2007-11).
Greenbaum, who has been at San Diego State since September of 2014, has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, Sales and Fulfillment. Greenbaum, along with Pearson, creates and implements marketing and promotion plans for many of the Aztecs’ 19 D-I programs. He also oversees the department’s outbound ticket sales staff and manages all marketing e-mail communications. Before arriving at SDSU, Greenbaum spent time in the marketing departments at UCLA and Long Beach State, where he received a Master’s degree in Sport Management.
“Lisa and Todd continue to seek innovative ways to market to Aztec fans and improve the game environment for SDSU athletics,” Steve Schnall, SDSU’s Executive Associate Athletic Director of External Relations, explained. “Thanks to their efforts, San Diego State has been a leader in attendance in the Mountain West while creating an engaging and exciting atmosphere for our fans.”
