SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State baseball team dropped a 10-2 decision at home against UC Irvine. The Aztecs fall to 21-12 on the year, while the Anteaters improve to 18-13 and complete a season sweep in the 2018 series.

SDSU found itself in a large hole early in the game, as UC Irvine jumped out to a 7-0 lead after a seven-run second inning. The Anteaters recorded seven base hits in the frame, including three doubles and a Ryan Fitzpatrick three-run home run that capped the second-inning outburst. UC Irvine's lead grew to 10-0 after a run in the fourth and two runs in the sixth.

The Aztecs avoided the shutout with a two-run bottom of the ninth that featured RBI singles by David Hensley and Grant Mayeaux.

Jacob Erickson was dealt his second loss of the season in the setback. The Aztec lineup posted a pair of multi-hit performances with Hensley and Chase Calabuig going 4-for-4 and 2-for-4, respectively.

NOTES
- David Hensley went 4-for-4 to extend his on-base streak to 26, tying the longest streak by an Aztec since the start of the 2016 season. Hensley also pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

- SDSU sees a five-game non-conference winning streak snapped after Tuesday's setback.

- SDSU falls to 21-7 against teams from the Big West since the start of the 2017 season. SDSU plays each of its next four games (three-game series vs. Cal State Fullerton, midweek vs. CSUN) against Big West programs.
