COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Ashley Henderson set a new school record in the 200 meter dash and qualified for tomorrow's finals in both the 60 and 200 in the first day of the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Henderson's time of 22.80 in the 200 broke her own school record of 22.81 set at last year's Mountain West Championships. She easily won her heat and had the fourth best time of the day.
In the 60, Henderson finished fourth in her heat with a time of 7.209 which gave her the eighth best time and qualified her for Saturday's finals. She was just 0.07 seconds from the fifth place finisher. LSU's Aleia Hobbs had the top time (7.12) and was one of four Tigers that will move on to the finals.
"I am extremely proud to be in both finals tomorrow," Henderson said. "It's an honor being this is my last NCAA Indoor Championship. I'm proud of myself and thankful."
Bonnie Draxler will competing in the pole vault tomorrow along with Henderson.
