SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State baseball team came in at No. 25 in Baseball America's national rankings for the third consecutive week on Monday morning. San Diego State took two-of-three in San Luis Obispo, Calif. this past weekend, winning the series opener and finale against Cal Poly in a road series. The Aztecs also topped San Diego in a road game last Tuesday, 9-3, and currently stand at 13-6 on the season with a 4-1 MW record.
The Aztecs were featured in Baseball America's rankings for the first time since April 23, 2009, three weeks ago. SDSU is the third highest California team in the rankings, trailing only No. 3 Stanford and No. 16 UCLA. The Aztecs are also the fifth-highest ranked team from a non-power 5 conference.
The Aztecs are also receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches' Poll with a total of five points.
The No. 25-ranked Aztecs return to Tony Gwynn Stadium for a midweek contest on Tuesday against CSU Bakersfield starting at 6:00 p.m. Next weekend, the Aztecs return to Mountain West action with a three-game road series against first-place standing UNLV (18-3, 5-1 MW).
