SDSU Men's Basketball Game Notes | SDSU Broadcast Flip Card

NEWS AND NOTES (Through games of Sunday, Feb. 25)
* Riding a season-long-tying four-game win streak, San Diego State enters the final week of regular season play with a pair of home games against the top two teams in the Mountain West. The Aztecs will play host to Boise State on Tuesday before hosting Nevada on Senior Night Saturday.

* The Aztecs and Broncos game will be broadcast nationally by CBS Sports Network and the contest can be heard on 101.5 KGB, XTRA Sports 1360 and FOX Sports IE 1350.

* There is still plenty to be determined in the final week of the regular season. San Diego State is currently tied for fifth, just a game out of third place. Two games separate teams three through seven in the standings.

* On Saturday, San Diego State won its fourth straight game, winning at San José State, 71-59. The Aztecs limited the Spartans to just 38.8-percent shooting from the field and received another outstanding performance from freshman Jalen McDaniels (seventh career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds).

* San Diego State's senior class scored just six points in the victory over the Spartans. It was the fewest points scored by an SDSU senior class in a game the Aztecs won since scoring six points at TCU on March 3, 2012.

* Saturday's victory clinched at least a .500 league record for the Aztecs. SDSU, which has won a league-high 10 MW championships, has finished with a .500-or-better conference mark each of the last 14 seasons (last time SDSU did not finish at or above .500 was 2004-05). The next longest active streak is Boise State, which extended its streak to six seasons this year.

* San Diego State has outscored its opposition by a total of 71 points during its four-game win streak (17.8 ppg). Since Feb. 14, the Aztecs are tied for the eighth-best scoring margin in the nation.

* San Diego State has been particularly dominant at home of late. In addition to posting an 11-2 record at Viejas Arena this season and a 6-1 mark at home in league play, SDSU's home conference scoring margin of +21.4 is easily tops in the MW. The Aztecs have won four straight home contests by margins of 19 (Colorado State), 31 (Air Force), 10 (Wyoming) and 38 (UNLV). See right box

* San Diego State is 15-2 this season when owning an advantage in FG percentage and 12-1 when attempting more free throws.
