Big Notes
• San Diego State joined Clemson as the only teams in the country this year with at least one win over a Top 25 team, wins over two Power 5 teams and at least one road win at a Power 5 school.
• SDSU won for the 24th time over the last 27 games (24-3). The .889 win percentage over that time (since Oct. 3, 2015) trails only Alabama (28-1; .966) and Clemson (28-2; .933) for the highest winning percentage in FBS play.
Streaks Continued
• SDSU won its fifth straight game dating back to last year, is 11-2 in its last 13 games and 24-3 in its last 27 games.
• The Aztecs have won the last five games in which they have been an underdog (2015 at San Jose State, 2015 vs. Utah State, 2016 vs. Houston, 2017 at Arizona State, 2017 vs. No. 19 Stanford).
• SDSU has won three consecutive games against Pac-12 teams.
• San Diego State has won its last three encounters with teams from Power 5 Conferences.
• The Aztecs won their sixth straight game played during the month of September.
Defeating the "Power 5"
• SDSU has won three consecutive meetings against power conference teams (Power 5, BCS, etc.) for the first time in its Division I era (since 1969).
• San Diego State defeated two power conference teams in a season for the first time since 1981 (won at Oklahoma State (23-16) and vs. Iowa State (52-31)).
• The Aztecs are 3-0 in their last three games against power conference teams after posting a 1-31 record in such games prior to this stretch. The 1-31 stretch started in 2000.
• With three straight wins against teams from power leagues, SDSU improved to 20-74 all-time in such games in its DI era.
Defeating the Pac-12
• SDSU won its third straight game against the Pac-12 and improved to 4-4 in its last eight games against the league.
• The Aztecs have won three consecutive games against Pac-12/10/8 schools for the first time since defeating Oregon State (1972), at Oregon State (1975) and Arizona (1979) in the 1970s.
Defeating the Top 25
• Rocky Long became the first coach in SDSU's Division I era to record two victories over nationally opponents. He owns a 2-5 record in those games while all other Aztec coaches in the Division I era are a combined are 6-57.
• San Diego State defeated a nationally ranked non-conference team for the first time since beating No. 12 Iowa State, Oct. 10, 1981 in San Diego.
Rare Cardinal Loss
• Entering tonight, Stanford had won nine straight non-conference games dating back to a 16-6 loss at Northwestern on Sept. 5, 2015. During the win streak, the Cardinal defeated three nationally ranked teams (4th-ranked Notre Dame, 24th-ranked USC (in a conference championship game thus a non-conference game) and 6th-ranked Iowa).
• Entering tonight, Stanford had won six straight non-conference games against unranked teams (last loss at Northwestern, 16-6, Sept. 5, 2015).

• SDSU only allowed Stanford to control ball for 18:46, its fewest time of possession in a game since at least 1996.
• The Aztecs improved to 55-14 in the Rocky Long era when scoring just 20 or more points.
