After arriving in Fort Worth mid-afternoon, the Aztecs quickly checked into their hotel before traveling to AT&T Stadium, home to the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. SDSU participated in a brief walk thru at the stadium.
After the walk thru, San Diego State attended the famous Billy Bob's Texas, a barbeque restaurant and country music club. Since it opened in 1981, Billy Bob's Texas has hosted numerous country artists and live Pro Bull Riding, and has been featured on several TV and movie screens, including "Dallas", "Walker Texas Ranger", "Over the Top", and "Necessary Roughness", among others. Billy Bob's has also hosted other bands such as Ringo Starr, .38 Special, Men at Work, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Pat Benatar, Heart and ZZ Top.
After a big barbeque dinner, the Aztecs faced Army West Point in a game of Family Feud. SDSU, which featured seniors Mikah Holder, Trey Lomax and David Wells, sophomore Ron Smith and freshman Keith Ismael, lost a close battle with the Black Knights.
On the docket for Wednesday is practice in the morning, and a team improv event and dinner at night.
San Diego State (10-2) and Army West Point (9-3) play at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday.
