Big Notes
• Rashaad Penny broke 2,000 rushing yards for the season, making SDSU the first team in NCAA FBS history with back-to-back 2,000 rushing yard seasons by different players (Donnel Pumphrey in 2016, Penny in 2017).
• San Diego State became just the second school with a pair of 2,000-yard rushing seasons by two different players (also Texas).
• Rashaad Penny rushed for 203 yards, making him the first FBS player since Tulane's Matt Forte in 2007 with at least 200 yards rushing in four consecutive games. The four straight 200-yard rushing games is tied for the fourth longest streak in NCAA FBS history, one shy of a record held by Marcus Allen (USC, 1981), Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State, 1988) and Jamario Thomas (North Texas, 2004).
• SDSU won its 10th game of the season and now has three consecutive seasons with double-digits in wins for the first time in program history.
• San Diego State now has 10 seasons with at least 10 wins.
• Aztec head coach Rocky Long has now been on the winning sideline of the last 14 times SDSU and New Mexico met (four as San Diego State head coach, two as the Aztec defensive coordinator and eight as the UNM head coach).
• The Aztecs won their 39th straight game when rushing for at least 200 yards and improved to 47-2 in the Rocky Long era when rushing for at least 200 yards.
• Rushing numbers over the last four games:
- San Diego State: 209 att., 1,442 yds., 6.9 YPC, 15 TD
- SDSU opponents: 96 att., 184 yds., 1.9 YPC, 1 TD
- Rashaad Penny: 96 att., 912 yds., 9.5 YPC, 9 TD
• The Aztecs improved to 12-2 in their last 14 games, 18-4 in their last 22 and 31-5 in their last 36.
• SDSU improved to 24-4 in its last 28 games against Mountain West competition.
• The Aztecs improved to 10-2 in their last 12 November games and 19-4 in their last 23 games played in November.

Team Notes
• SDSU has now gone 38 straight games with one interception or fewer (dates back to Sept. 12, 2015 at California).
• The Aztecs won their 23rd consecutive game when forcing multiple turnovers.
• SDSU won its 17th straight game when holding its opponent scoreless in the first quarter.
• SDSU's 11 turnovers year have led to 17 points. SDSU has forced 19 turnovers on defense, which has led to 62 points.
• San Diego State has scored in 16 consecutive quarters.
• The Aztecs held New Mexico below 100 rushing yards for the first time since Sept. 15, 2012 at Texas Tech (84 yards).

Trends
• SDSU did not start with the ball for just the 12th time over the last 83 games.
• San Diego State lost the coin toss for just the 23rd time over the last 52 games.
• The Aztecs have now gone 143 games without suffering a shutout (Nov. 18, 2006 at TCU), which is the second-longest streak among current Mountain West schools (Boise State at 261).
• SDSU held its opponent scoreless on its opening drive for the 29th time over the last 37 games and for the 30th time since 2015 (40 games).
• The Aztecs improved to 8-0 this season and 47-12 in the Rocky Long era when scoring first.

• Rushed 22 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns, while adding a 33-yard kick return.
• Became the first FBS player since Tulane's Matt Forte in 2007 with at least 200 yards rushing in four consecutive games. The four straight 200-yard rushing games is tied for the fourth-longest streak in NCAA FBS history.
• Broke 100 yards rushing for the fourth straight game, 10th time this season and 15th time of his career.

His six career 200-yard rushing games are tied with Pumphrey (2013-14-15-16) for the second most in program history, only trailing Faulk's seven.
• Scored his 18th and 19th rushing touchdowns this year (T-5th in SDSU single-season history) now has 34 for his career (T-5th in SDSU history).
• Now has 24 touchdowns on the year (T-1st in SDSU single-season history with Marshall Faulk (1993) and Paul Hewitt (1987)) and 48 for his career (3rd in SDSU history).
• Out of his 47 career touchdowns, 33 have been rushing scores, seven kick return, six receiving, and one punt return.
• San Diego State improved to 25-4 over his career when he scores at least one touchdown, 13-0 when he scores multiple times, 19-2 when he rushes for at least one touchdown and 10-0 when he rushes for multiple touchdowns.
• The Aztecs also improved to 15-0 when he rushes for at least 100 yards, 9-0 when he rushes for 150 yards and 6-0 when he eclipses 200 yards.
• Is now ranked second at SDSU in single-season history and 19th in NCAA FBS single-season history with 2,027 rushing yards.
• Is now ranked fourth all-time at San Diego State with 3,435 rushing yards.

* Juwan Washington, So., RB (9 att., 84 yds., 1 TD)
• Rushed nine times for 84 yards and a touchdown.
• Recorded his seventh rushing touchdown of the season and 13th of his career.
• Recorded his eighth overall touchdown of the season and 16th of his career.
• Now has 16 touchdowns (13 rushing, two kick return, one receiving) over the last 19 games.

* Christian Chapman, Jr., QB (14-for-21, 198 yds., 2 TD, 1 INT)
• Was 14-for-21 for 198 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
• Improved to 23-5 as the starting quarterback over his career.
• The 23 victories tie Ryan Lindley (2008-09-10-11) for the most in SDSU's Division I history (since 1969). • Now has nine career games with multiple touchdown passes (he has never thrown more than one interception in a game).
• Threw his 12th and 13th touchdown passes of the season and now has 35 for his career.

* Kahale Warring, So., TE (3 rec., 15 yds., 1 TD)
• Caught three passes for 15 yards and a touchdown.
• Recorded his third touchdown catch of the season and fifth of his career.

* Fred Trevillion, Jr., WR (2 rec., 67 yds., 1 TD)
• Caught two passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.
• Recorded his second touchdown catch this season (and of his career).
• The two receptions tied a career high.

* Kyahva Tezino, So., LB (14 tackles (7 solo), 2.5 TFL)
• Had a career-high 14 tackles and tied a career high with 2.5 tackles for loss.
• Tezino's 14 tackles were the most by an Aztec since Calvin Munson had 14 vs. California on Sept. 10, 2016 and match the most by an Aztec since Nat Berhe had 15 at Nevada on Oct. 20, 2012.
• Now has 39 tackles and six tackles for loss over the last four games after recording eight tackles and one TFL over his first 17 games.

* Tariq Thompson, Fr., WAR (8 tackles (6 solo), 2 INT, 2 PBU, 1.0 TFL))
• Had eight tackles (six solo), two interceptions, two pass breakups and a tackle for loss.
• His two pass breakups were a career high, while his two interceptions and one tackles for loss tied a career best.
• Now has five interceptions this season, one shy of entering the school's single-season top 10 list.

Other Notes
• QB Christian Chapman started for the 28th consecutive game, the longest streak on the team (offense/defense).
• RB/KR Rashaad Penny played in his 53rd straight game, the longest streak on the team.
• Senior LB Tyler Morris made his first career start in his final home game.
• Today's game temperature was 86 degrees, the warmest 12th game of the season for the Aztecs in their Division I history (since 1969) (previous warmest was 78 degrees at No. 1 Miami on Nov. 30, 1991).
