Penny, who earlier this season became the first player in MW history to be named a player of the week in four consecutive weeks, now has eight MW player-of-the-week award for his career, including six this year (five offensive, one special teams). Penny's eight career MW weekly accolades are the most in Aztec history.

Penny rushed 20 times for 234 yards (11.7 avg.) with three touchdowns in a convincing 52-7 win by the Aztecs at San José State on Saturday night. The 234 rushing yards were the second most of his career and the 21st most in SDSU single-game history. Penny scored on runs of 13, 82 and 64 yards as he outgained the Spartans by himself, 234-200. He rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter, 170 in the first half and ran just once in the second half - a 64-yard touchdown on San Diego State's first play of the third quarter - en route to tying a career high with three touchdowns.

Penny broke 100 yards for the eighth time this year and 13th time of his career, and eclipsed 200 yards for the third time this season and fourth time of his career, while tying a career high with three touchdowns.

On the season, Penny has rushed 229 times for 1,602 yards (7.0 avg.) and 15 touchdowns. Penny leads the country in rushing yards, all-purpose yards (2,033) and all-purpose yards per game (203.30), and is second in rushing yards per game (160.2), total touchdowns and total points (108). Additionally, he is also tied for third in rushing touchdowns, fourth in points per game (10.8), 10th in rushing yards per carry (10.0) and tied for 10th in kick return touchdowns (1).

Penny is a Maxwell Award semifinalist (collegiate player of the year), and has been named a second-team All-America selection by both Associated Press and Sports Illustrated.

The Aztecs are off this week, but return to play their final two games of the regular season at SDCCU Stadium against Nevada (Nov. 18) and New Mexico (Nov. 24).
