The Big Notes
• At 6-0, San Diego State continued its best start since 1975. The Aztecs at 6-0 for the first time since 1975, the fourth time in its Division I era (since 1969) (also 1969, 1970 and 1975) and for the seventh time in program history (also 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1975).
• SDSU won its eighth straight game dating back to last year, is 14-2 in its last 16 games and 27-3 in its last 30 games.
• The Aztecs' eight-game winning streak is the fourth-longest active streak in the country, while their 27-3 mark since Oct. 3, 2015 is the third-best winning percentage (.900) over that span.
• SDSU won its 12th consecutive game against teams from the Pacific Time Zone. This is the third-longest active streak in the nation.
• San Diego State won its 12th straight game against teams from the West Division of the Mountain West.
• The Aztecs improved to 20-2 in their last 22 games against Mountain West opponents.
• SDSU won its FBS-leading 12th road game since Oct. 10, 2015.
• San Diego State won its fourth straight road game, seventh of its last eight (7-1) an 12th of its last 14 (12-2).
• The Aztecs improved to 9-1 in their last 10 road games against Mountain West competition.
• At No. 19 in the AP Poll, SDSU recorded its highest ranking in a road victory since winning at No. 16 at San Jose State by a 37-34 score on Nov. 21, 1977.
• The Aztecs won their 35th consecutive game when rushing for at least 200 yards and improved to 43-2 in the Rocky Long era when rushing for at least 200 yards.
• San Diego State has posted at least a six-game winning streak in each of the last three seasons (2015, 2016 and 2017).
• The Aztecs won their third consecutive game as nationally ranked team in the AP poll for the first time since 1970.
• SDSU won its fourth straight game in the series against UNLV and improved to 7-1 in its last eight encounters. The four-game win streak by San Diego State is the longest in the 27-game history of the series.
• Rocky Long recorded his 60th victory as the head coach of the Aztecs. He became the third coach in program history to reach the 60-win plateau.
• Long is one win shy of matching Claude Gilbert (61) for second place on the school's all-time list.
• SDSU improved to 12-1 in its last 13 games played during the month of October.
Rashaad Penny
• Recorded his sixth 100-yard rushing game of the season and the 11th of his career.
• Penny joins Marshall Faulk in 1992 as the only players in school history with six consecutive 100-yard rushing games to open a season (no Aztec has ever started with seven straight 100-yard games).
• His 11 100-yard rushing games rank are tied for the eighth most in school history (Norm Nygaard, 1952-54, and David Turner, 1976-77).
• All 11 of his 100-yard rushing games have come in his last 16 games. During that span, he has rushed for 1,823 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns.
• Penny's streak of six consecutive games with at least 100 rushing yards is tied for the second longest in FBS this year and the fifth longest in school history.
• Penny became the fifth player in school history to record a least six consecutive 100-yard rushing games (also Donnel Pumphrey (twice), Marshall Faulk, George Jones and Ronnie Hillman).
The Series
• San Diego State improved to 18-9 all-time against UNLV, including a 7-6 mark in Las Vegas.
• The Aztecs won their fourth straight game vs. the Rebels, the longest streak in the 27-game series for either team.
• SDSU improved to 7-1 in its last eight games vs. UNLV
Team Notes
• San Diego State held the Rebels to just 106 yards on the ground, their fewest since only rushing for 80 against the Aztecs on Nov. 21, 2015. Three of UNLV's five-fewest rushing games since 2015 have come vs. SDSU.
• The Aztecs improved 58-14 in the Rocky Long era (6-0 this year) when scoring just 20 or more points.
• SDSU has now gone 32 straight games with one interception or fewer (dates back to Sept. 12, 2015 at California).
• San Diego State has a 100-yard rusher in all six games this season, 17 of 20 games since 2016 (23, 100-yard rushers total) and 26 of the 34 games since Jeff Horton took over as the offensive coordinator in 2015 (35, 100-yard rushers total).

• SDSU started with the ball for the 66th time over the last 76 games.
• San Diego State lost the coin toss for just the 19th time over the last 44 games.
• The Aztecs have now gone 137 games without suffering a shutout (Nov. 18, 2006 at TCU), which is the third-longest streak among current Mountain West schools (Air Force at 304 and Boise State at 256).
