Big Notes
- Rashaad Penny rushed 30 times for a career-high 253 yards (8.4 avg.) and two touchdowns. The 253 yards are tied for the 12th most in a game in school history, the most in FBS this week and the 10th most in a FBS game this season.
- The Aztecs won their 36th straight games when rushing for at least 200 yards and improved to 44-2 in the Rocky Long era when rushing for at least 200 yards.
- SDSU held Hawai'i to 195 yards. It's just the second time since 1999 that a team held Hawai'i to under 200 yards of total offense at Aloha Stadium.
- San Diego State won its seventh game of the season (entering today only seven teams nationally had more victories).
- Since Oct. 10, 2015, the Aztecs have more road wins (13) than every other FBS team in the country.
- SDSU won its fifth straight road game, is 8-1 in its last nine road contests and is 13-2 in its last 15 road games.
- San Diego State improved to 9-2 in its last 11 games, 15-4 in its last 19 games and 28-5 in its last 33 games.
- The Aztecs improved to 10-3 in their last 13 games against Mountain West competition.

- Rocky Long won his 61st game at San Diego State, tying Claude Gilbert for second place in school history.
- Rocky Long improved to 7-0 as a head coach against Hawai'i.
- The Aztecs defeated Hawai'i, which had won four of its last five home games.
- SDSU defeated Hawai'i for a sixth straight time, for a third straight time in Honolulu and wins at Aloha Stadium for a fourth consecutive visit.
- San Diego State has handed Hawai'i three of its last 14 defeats at Aloha Stadium and five of its last 33 losses overall.
- The Aztecs improved to 15-2 in their last 17 meetings against Hawai'i.
- SDSU has not trailed against Hawai'i since the fourth quarter at Hawai'i in 2013, a period of 242 minutes, 34 seconds (242:34).
- This marked the eighth consecutive game between the teams that has had a game time temperature of at least 71 degrees. Entering tonight, the average temperature in the 26 Division I era games was 74.8 degrees.

- SDSU has now gone 35 straight games with one interception or fewer (dates back to Sept. 12, 2015 at California).
- The Aztecs used a 14-play drive to score a touchdown in the first quarter, matching their longest scoring drive of the season.
- SDSU took a 7-0 lead with 3:08 left in the first quarter, its first lead in 131 minutes, 52 seconds (131:52).
- It was also San Diego State's first touchdown in 81 minutes, 58 seconds (81:58) of game time.
- The Aztecs scored a touchdown in the first quarter for the first time since Northern Illinois on Sept. 30. SDSU had scored just three points over its previous three first quarters.
- Despite not retuning the opening kickoff, San Diego State had the ball for 9:38 in the first quarter.

- The Aztecs have now gone 140 games without suffering a shutout (Nov. 18, 2006 at TCU), which is the third-longest streak among current Mountain West schools (Air Force at 307 and Boise State at 259).
- SDSU held an opponent scoreless on its opening drive for the 27th time over the last 34 games and 28th time since 2015 (37 games).

- Was 5-for-11 for 83 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing an interception.
- Improved to 20-5 as the starting quarterback over his career.
- Threw an interception in the fourth quarter, his first since the final play of the first half against UC Davis on a Hail Mary attempt.
- The interception snapped his streak of 167 passes without a pick, which was just 11 shy of Dan McGwire's school record of 178 set in 1990.
- Threw his ninth touchdown pass of the season and 31st of his career.
