SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres will celebrate San Diego State University Night on Friday, Aug. 18, against the Washington Nationals starting at 7:10 p.m. inside Petco Park.
The Aztec athletics and alumni tent will open at 4:30 p.m. in the Park at the Park, featuring live performances from the SDSU band and spirit squads. In addition, fans can pick up football schedule posters, foam fingers and other giveaway prizes.
Aztec Director of Athletics John David Wicker and head baseball coach Mark Martinez are scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. In addition, Fowler College of Business Dean Lance Neil and SDSU Associated Students President Chimezie Ebiriekwe will be recognized during pregame festivities.
Throughout the evening, the Aztec spirit teams will also be assisting the Pad Squad with in-game promotions, while those in attendance will also be afforded the opportunity to view the new SDSU football commercial on the video board.
The Padres are offering discounted tickets for the special night starting at $23.50, which includes a commemorative SDSU-themed Padres hat. Only the first 1,000 fans who purchase the dedicated SDSU ticket package online will receive the giveaway item. For more information, click here
