WHAT'S ON TAP THIS WEEKEND IN AZTEC BASEBALL
San Diego State will continue Mountain West action with a three-game weekend series at Air Force. The first contest of that set is scheduled for Friday, May 12, at 3:00 p.m. MT at Falcon Field in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Aztecs and Falcons will also meet up for games on Saturday (May 13) and Sunday (May 14) at 2:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. MT respectively.

AZTECS ON THE AIR
All three games at Air Force will have live video streaming on the Mountain West Network with Live Stats available for all three contests vs. the Falcons. Links for the broadcasts as well as live stats will be on the SDSU web site (GoAztecs.com).

SERIES RECORD
San Diego State's all-time record against Air Force stands at 103-24 since the teams first met in 1961. The Falcons are one of three teams against which SDSU has recorded 100 wins. The other two are New Mexico (111) and Utah (102). The Aztecs have won the last 56 of the last 65 meetings between the teams. The Falcons and Aztecs split six regular-season contests during the 2016 season. The Aztecs are 57-8 vs. the Falcons in San Diego and 39-16 at Air Force's home field. The Aztecs have won all seven meetings at neutral sites.

REYES PITCHER OF THE WEEK
San Diego State senior left-hander Marcus Reyes has been named the Mountain West Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, May 7, 2017. He made two relief appearances last week, including one at UCLA on Tuesday (May 2) and another at San José State on Sunday (May 7). In a total of 5.2 innings last week, Reyes allowed one hit (infield single) to the 18 batters he faced (.056 batting average against), struck out five and did not give up a walk.

SHEEHAN HITS AWAY
Senior Danny Sheehan currently appears on 75-player the watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award presented to the nation's top shortstop. Sheehan is currently on a 14-game hitting streak during which he has gone 21-for-50 (.420) with three doubles, a triple, three home runs, 14 RBI and 14 runs scored. He has driven in at least one run in eight of the last 10 games.

HENSLEY SWINGS AWAY
David Hensley had a nine-game hitting streak come to an end in the series finale at UC Santa Barbara on April 23. Since that game, he has hit safely in eight straight games and has now done so in 17 of SDSU's last 18 contests. Over that span, he is hitting .459 (34-for-72) with four doubles, a triple, three home runs, 14 RBI and 17 runs scored. He has doubled in each of the past three contests.

TREJO DOES IT ALL
Alan Trejo has been stellar both at the plate and on the mound in 2017. Over the last 16 games he is hitting .371 (26-for-70) with three doubles, a home run, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored. He recorded his second win in the 12-inning victory over San Jose State on Saturday (May 6). Trejo leads the team in runs scored (43), hits (68), doubles (14) and stolen bases (10).

ADKISON MAKES HIS MARK
Outfielder Tyler Adkison was named a second team Perfect Game/Rawlings Midseason All-American. He has also been added to the 40-player watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, presented to the top amateur player in the country. He is on a five game hitting streak during which he is batting .350 (7-for-20) with two doubles, two homes runs, six RBI and four runs scored. He hit his team-leading 13th home run of the season in the contest at San Jose State on Sunday (May 7). It marked the fourth time this season that he has homered in back-to-back contests.

CALABUIG HEATING UP
Chase Calabuig hit his sixth homer of the year at San Jose State on Saturday (May 6). In the game at UCLA on May2, he finished the game with four hits to tie his career best in a single game. He first set his career-high of four hits in the contest at UC Riverside on April 18. He is hitting .329 (23-for-70) over the Aztecs' last 17 games with two doubles, four home runs, 16 RBI and 15 runs.

SAYLOR SAVES
Senior right-hander CJ Saylor has recorded 12 saves along with a win this season as the Aztecs' closer. He picked up his 12th save of the year when he tossed the final inning in the Aztecs' 8-6 win at UCLA on Tuesday, May 2. Saylor's ERA now stands at 1.48 and opponents are hitting .179 against him. He has recorded 29 strikeouts and four walks in his last 19.2 innings pitched (17 appearances).

AZTEC NOTES
SDSU's series vs. New Mexico (April 28-30) was its 10th weekend series of the season and the first three-game series (of 11) that the Aztecs have failed to win in 2017 … In the game at UCLA on Tuesday (May 2), the relief trio of Jacob Erickson (3.1 IP), Jorge Fernandez (1.0 IP) and CJ Saylor (1.0 IP) retired the final 16 consecutive Bruin hitters … The Aztecs have stolen as least one base in eight of their last nine games. Alan Trejo leads the team with 10 steals while freshman Julian Escobedo is a perfect 9-for-9 on his stolen base attempts … Third baseman Andrew Brown has missed the past nine games with a right oblique (muscle) strain. He is doubtful for this weekend at Air Force … Junior David Hensley's 17 career sacrifice bunts tie him for 11th on the SDSU career top 20 in that category … Sophomore Jordan Verdon's 11 career sacrifice flies tie him for 12th on the SDSU career top 20 list … First baseman Jordan Verdon and shortstop Danny Sheehan are the only two player to have started every game. Sheehan has made all his starts at shortstop while Verdon has made 47 at first base and two at DH. Alan Trejo has started in 48 of the team's 49 contests, all at second base.
