COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State women's tennis senior Kennedy Davis earned a spot on the All-Mountain West singles team, the conference announced Wednesday. The all-conference nod is the sole award for SDSU this season and marks the first conference honor in the Aztec senior's four seasons. The league's 11 head coaches vote on selections for the team.

This season, Davis competed in the No. 2 spot in 19 of 20 singles matches, posting a team-best 9-11 overall dual record (.450). Though the senior went 0-4 in conference singles matches, she went on a five-match win streak prior to the start of conference play.

A native of San Jose, Calif., Davis boasts a career 43-43 dual singles record (.500) in her four years on the Mesa, playing all seasons in one of the top four slots.

Davis is also the first Aztec named to the all-conference team in singles since Tami Nguyen's selection in 2015. This year, at least one player from nine of the 11 MW institutions is represented on the 2016-17 All-MW team.

SDSU enters the 2017 Mountain West Championship as the No. 9 seed (5-17, 0-4) and will face eighth-seeded Utah State tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nev. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament and a link will be available on GoAztecs.com. For complete coverage of the MW Championships, visit the conference website, TheMW.com.
