SAN DIEGO -

2017 Golden Coast Conference Championship Bracket

No. 11 San Diego State will be the top-seeded team in this week's Golden Coast Conference Championship to be held at Santa Clara's Sullivan Aquatic Center. The tournament begins Friday, April 28, and ends Sunday, April 30.

The Aztecs for the fourth straight season will receive a bye into the semifinal round, which is set for Saturday, April 29. SDSU will play in the tournament's second semifinal game at 1:30 p.m. PT against either fourth-seeded Azusa Pacific or No. 5 seed SCU. APU and Santa Clara will play on Friday at 1:30 p.m. PT.

Win or lose in the semifinal, SDSU will play on Saturday. A loss drops the Aztecs to the third-place game at noon PT. A victory places the Scarlet and Black into the championship at 1:30 p.m. PT.

San Diego State earned the No. 1 seed after posting a 7-0 record in league play. The Aztecs have not dropped a regular-season GCC game in four years, going 26-0 in the process.

SDSU sits atop the conference seedings and is followed by second-seeded Pacific, third-seeded LMU, fourth-seeded APU, fifth-seeded SCU, sixth-seeded California Baptist and seventh-seeded Fresno Pacific. The seven teams will be competing for the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.

The Aztecs enter the tournament as the defending champion after claiming the title last season in San Diego. SDSU advanced to the NCAA Championship for the third time in school history and finished eighth nationally.
