LAS VEGAS, Nev. - San Diego State and UNLV will square off for the second contest of their three-game weekend series this evening at 6:05 p.m. at Earl E. Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas.

After last night's 7-3 win over the Aztecs in the series opener, UNLV's record now stands at 13-23 overall and 7-9 in the Mountain West. The Rebels sit in fifth place in the league standings, two games behind fourth-place San Jose State in the battle for a berth in the MW Tournament at the end of May.

UNLV will send left-hander Tevita Gerber (3-4, 6.17) to the mound to start tonight's game where he will be opposed by SDSU senior lefty Brett Seeburger (6-1, 2.65).

San Diego State enters the day with a mark of 24-11 overall and 11-5 in conference action. It is currently in second place, three games behind league-leading New Mexico entering the second half of the Mountain West schedule.

SDSU got home runs from Alan Trejo and Hunter Stratton in Thursday night's game, but it was not enough to overcome three homers by the Rebels. It marked the fourth round tripper of the year for Trejo and the first of the season for Stratton.

Tyler Adkison continues to lead the Aztec hitters with a .411 batting average along with nine home runs and 32 RBI in the 29 games in which he has appeared. He was named a midseason Third Team All-American by Perfect Game and is on the 40-player watch list for the 2017 Golden Spikes Award.

SDSU's .307 team batting average is its highest since the 2010 season when it finished with a .312 average. In addition, the pitching staff's 3.28 earned run average is the team's lowest since it turned in a 3.17 ERA at the end of the 1989 campaign.

San Diego state and UNLV will wrap up their series on Saturday (April 15) with a single game slated to get underway at 2:05 p.m. in Las Vegas.
