San Diego State track & field continued its busy week in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, concluding competition at the Mt. SAC Relays while kicking off competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational, both hosted by Azusa Pacific University.

Senior Kassidy Ellis closed out the Mt. SAC Relays heptathlon on Thursday. In her first heptathlon of the year, she gathered 4,549 points for 12th place. The Bakersfield, Calif., native opened the day by taking 14th in the long jump, posting a 17-03.50 mark. In the javelin, she recorded a 75-foot, five-inch throw, placing 14th, and closed out the meet with a 12th-place time in the 800 meters at 2:32.76. Former Aztec Nicole Oudenaarden, now competing with the University of Calgary, won the heptathlon with 5,927 points.

At the opening day of the Bryan Clay Invitational, senior Elaine Ribeiro ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:17.61 for 33rd place.

Four Aztecs ran the 5,000 meters at the meet. Senior Christine Kent ran San Diego State's top time on the day, recording the program's eighth-fastest mark and a collegiate best at 16:55.51. Junior Lily Seynaeve also ran a collegiate best with her 17:11.85. Classmate Cassidy Towner (17:50.87) and senior Angel Bucci (18:32.49) also competed in the 5,000 meters.

San Diego State's day at the Bryan Clay Invitational kicks off tomorrow with the 100-meter hurdles (Micha Auzenne, Sierra Brabham-Lawrence, Andrenette Knight) at 10 a.m. The 400 is on tap for 11:25 a.m. (Simone Glenn, Tyra Lea, Madison Gipson), with the 100-meter dash following at 12:45 p.m. (Rochene Smith, Starlynn Singleton, Lisa-Anne Barrow, Sierra Brabham-Lawrence). The meet concludes for SDSU with the 800 meters at 2:15 p.m. (Cali King).

The Aztecs also begin competition tomorrow at the Beach Invitational, hosted by Long Beach State. Melody Harris kicks off the meet for the Scarlet and Black with the javelin at 11:25 a.m., while Freja Liljedahl competes in the hammer throw at 1:45 p.m.
