SAN - The San Diego State women's tennis team travels to Reno, Nev., this weekend where it will face Nevada in its first conference road match of the season. The Aztecs are set to take on the Wolf Pack Sunday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at the McArthur Tennis Center.
The Wolf Pack's conference opener against San Jose State, originally scheduled for today, was postponed due to rain, making the Aztecs the first conference opponents for the 6-7 Nevada team. The Wolf Pack recently fell to the Gonzaga Bulldogs, 4-3, and was scheduled to travel to Sonoma State the following weekend, but the match was canceled due to weather.
The Aztecs faced an uphill battle last week in their first conference matchup against UNLV, who currently hold the top spot in the Mountain West Conference standings. Ultimately, the Rebels downed SDSU, 7-0, at the Aztec Tennis Center last Friday. The winless dual marked the fifth straight loss for the 5-14, 0-1 Aztecs.
The Aztecs make the trip to Reno following a seven-match home stretch, but return to the Aztec Tennis Center next Thursday, April 13, for Senior Day and the final home dual of the season against Fresno State. The three San Diego State seniors—Kennedy Davis, Olivia Larsson and Taylor Lederman—will be honored prior to first serve at 2 p.m.
