SAN DIEGO - San Diego State will look to continue its winning ways this afternoon when it completes its three-game weekend series vs. Cal Poly at 1:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium. After starting the season 3-4, the Aztecs have won four straight to improve to 7-4 entering today's action.

The Mustangs come into the day with a mark of 2-8 and will send right-hander Bobby Ay (0-1. 9.00) to the mound to start this afternoon's contest.

San Diego State will counter will freshman left Hayden Petrovick (1-0, 3.60), who will be making his first collegiate start. Petrovick has been solid in his three relief appearances, in particular in the win at No. 7/11 State Fullerton when he tossed three late shutout innings to pick up the victory in that contest.

Last night the Aztecs used the long ball to recover from an early three-run deficit in a 6-4 win over the Mustangs. Home runs by Alan Trejo and Tyler Adkison keyed an SDSU comeback with Dominic Purpura picking up his second win of the season and CJ Saylor notching his third save.

Entering today's game, designated hitter Andrew Martinez has taken over the team batting lead with a .351 average. The senior from Chula Vista has recorded two doubles, a home run and seven RBI thus far in 2017.

Senior third baseball Andrew Brown (.340) continues to lead the Aztecs with three doubles, two home runs and nine RBI.

Up next for the Aztecs is a contest against USC on Tuesday, March 7, scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m. PT at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
