SAN DIEGO - San Diego State and Cal Poly will meet for game two of their three-game weekend series this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. PT at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

The Aztecs (6-4) will look to build on the momentum of last night's 5-0 win over the Mustangs and extend their current season-best three-game win streak.

Cal Poly comes into today's game with a record of 2-7 as it wraps up an 11-game string of road games to open its 2017 campaign.

The Mustangs are expected to send junior right-hander Jarred Zill (0-2, 9.90) to the mound to start today's contest. Zill has made a pair of starts this season, suffering losses at No. 22 California and at Pacific.

San Diego State will counter with senior left-hander Dominic Purpura (1-0, 2.92). Purpura, who has struck out nine and walked only one over his 12.1 innings this season, was not involved in the decision in his most recent start vs. Notre Dame last Saturday.

Outfielder David Hensley has taken over the team batting lead with a.370 average, He is tied for the team lead with three doubles and has also driven in six runs through the first 10 contests.

Right behind Hensley are designated hitter Andrew Martinez (.364, two doubles, seven RBI) and Danny Sheehan (.350, seven RBI).

Third baseman Andre Brown leads the team in home runs with two as well as RBI with nine. The senior from nearby Chula Vista (The Rock Academy) comes into today's game hitting .326.

San Diego State and Cal Poly will wrap up their series with a contest on Sunday (March 5) scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
