SAN DIEGO - Due to expected inclement weather forecast for Sunday, the schedule for the second annual Tony Gwynn Classic baseball tournament has been altered.
Each of the seven teams in the tourney field will now play three games over a three-day period starting this evening when UC Irvine takes on Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Two games are scheduled for Friday at SDSU's home field with a tripleheader on deck for Saturday.
The Aztecs will begin play on Friday (Feb. 24) when they face Tennessee at 6:00 p.m. at TGS. That contest will be preceded by Seton Hall vs. Tennessee at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday (Feb. 25) games at Tony Gwynn Stadium will get underway at 10:00 a.m. when Seton Hall faces Oregon.
SDSU will then play Seton Hall starting at 2:00 p.m. followed by the Aztecs against Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets for the tournament are $12 for daily general admission with $10 tickets for youth 12 & under, seniors 55+ and military. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets in advance of game day for $6 each.
A portion of the tournament is also being conducted at Fowler Park at the University of San Diego where Oregon will face UC Irvine on Friday at 1:00 p.m. followed by USD against Notre Dame at 6:00.
Saturday's three games at Fowler Park include USD vs. UC Irvine at 10:00 a.m., UC Irvine vs. Tennessee at 2:00 p.m. and USD vs. Oregon at 6:00 p.m.
