COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Thirteen members of the San Diego State women's swimming and diving team have been named to the 2017 All-Mountain West team based on their performances at the recently completed MW Swimming & Diving Championships held in College Station, Texas, last week.
In addition, first-year Aztec McKenna Meyer was named the Freshman of the Meet for her performance over the four-days of the competition.
To be placed on the all-conference team, an individual must place in the top eight in the finals of their event. For the relays, the all-conference team consists of the top three finishers in each race. SDSU had all three of its relay quartets earn all-MWC honors.
A total of 10 Aztecs earned all-conference accolades in individual events while three others garnered the honor as a member of three winning relay teams.
SDSU swimmers captured one individual event, placed second in three others, and also had two third-place finishes. Meyer won the 400 individual medley with Frida Berggren taking third. Berggren also placed second in the 200 butterfly and third in the 200 individual medley.
Summer Harrison picked up a silver in the 100 butterfly while diver Alexandra Caplan was runner-up on the 3-meter springboard.
San Diego State finished second of the 10 teams at the Mountain West championship this season after finishing with an 8-0 record in dual meet competition.
