SAN DIEGO -

Weekly Release

San Diego State hits the road for its next contest on Sat., Feb. 11, a 4 p.m. game at Nevada. The matchup will stream live on the Mountain West Network, and Chris Ello will provide play-by-play for a live audio broadcast on GoAztecs.com.

In their most recent game, a battle from beyond the 3-point arc did not favor the Aztecs, as San Diego State scored 13 3-pointers to San José State's 12 3-pointers but fell, 99-90, in Viejas Arena on Feb. 8.

Nevada (8-14, 2-9 MW) is ensnared in a three-game losing streak, falling by an average of 13.3 points in losses to New Mexico, Utah State and UNLV. The Wolfpack scored a season-low 41 points in their most recent game at UNLV, falling to the Rebels, 60-41. Despite the loss, Nevada remains one of the Mountain West's best on the glass. The team is second with 41.7 rebounds per game. When sent to the free-throw line, the Wolfpack are also a premiere team, sitting second with a .754 free-throw percentage. Stephanie Schmid is her team's best beyond the 3-point arc, ranking third in the conference with 2.2 treys per game. The Aztecs will also have to contend with team-leading shot-blocker and rebounder AJ Cephas, who sits third and eighth in the conference in both categories.

San Diego State and Nevada will meet for the 17th time, and the second time this season. In the teams' meeting earlier this season, SDSU used an outstanding first half in which they scored nine 3-pointers, the most in a half since 2005, and 52 points, to claw their way past Nevada, 83-78, in its Mountain West debut at Viejas Arena on Jan. 4. Saturday's contest features the conference's three best 3-point shooters: SDSU's Lexy Thorderson and Kymberly Ellison, and Nevada's Stephanie Schmid. The trio ranks 1-2-3 in 3-pointers per game.

Following its contest at Nevada, SDSU returns home to host Utah State on Weds., Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. The game is the Aztecs' Military Appreciation Night. Anyone with a Military ID can receive two complimentary tickets to the game at the Viejas Arena door.
