The San Diego State track and field team closes out the regular season at the prestigious Don Kirby Elite Invitational this weekend, hosted by New Mexico, at Albuquerque Convention Center on Fri., Feb. 10 and Sat., Feb. 11.

San Diego State kicks off the meet on Friday at 3:50 p.m. with the first round of the 60-meter hurdles. At 4 p.m. is the long jump. The first round of the 60-meter dash is at 4:30 p.m., followed by the high jump at 6:15 p.m. and the 200 at 7:15 p.m. The Aztecs' day on Saturday begins with the shot put and the pole vault at 9:30 a.m., followed by the triple jump at 11 a.m. The 60-meter hurdles semifinal is at 10:45 a.m., while the 60-meter dash semifinal is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. The final of both events are at 12:30 p.m. and 2:10 p.m., respectively. The 400 is slated for 1:20 p.m., the 800 is on tap for 2:30 p.m. and the meet closes with the 4x400-meter relay at 3 p.m.

The meet is comprised of over 930 attached and unattached athletes, and San Diego State and the host Lobos will be joined by competitors from 42 teams, including Mountain West foes Colorado State, Nevada, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State and Wyoming.

The Aztecs' seniors will be busy at the meet. Micha Auzenne will run the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles, Madison Gipson is scheduled for the 60-meter hurdles, the 400 and the 4x400-meter relay. Starlynn Singleton is on tap for the long jump, 60-meter dash and 200. Tyra Lea will run the 200, 400 and 4x400-meter relay. Kira Moreland will compete in the long jump and the 60-meter dash. Redshirt senior Rachel Alesi will throw the shot put.

Among the Aztecs' juniors, Simone Glenn is slated to run the 60-meter dash, the 200 and the 4x400-meter relay, Monique McPherson will appear in the 800 and the 4x400-meter relay, Ellison Grove will compete in the 800, and Ashley Henderson and Rochene Smith will run the 60-meter dash and the 200.

Of the sophomore class, Lisa-Anne Barrow will compete in the long jump, 60-meter dash and 400, while Lakin Hatcher is registered for the 400 and the 4x400-meter relay. Jelena McNown will appear in the long jump and the 60, and Je'Neal Ainsworth is slated for the triple jump.

Freshman Andrenette Knight is on tap for the 60-meter hurdles and the 4x400-meter relay.

Competing in the pole vault will be Marissa Berry, Rachel Craft and Sara Curran.

The Aztecs' next appearance will be at the Mountain West Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, running from Thurs., Feb. 23 to Sat., Feb. 25.
