SAN DIEGO -

Weekly Release

San Diego State makes its home debut in Mountain West play with a contest on Weds., Jan. 4 against Nevada. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m., with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play action for a live broadcast on the Mountain West Network.

San Diego State (5-7, 0-1 MW) is looking to rebound from an 85-42 loss at New Mexico in its conference opener on Sat., Dec. 31. Lexy Thorderson was the team's top scorer with 11 points, her fifth game this year reaching double digits, to go alongside a season-high six rebounds. In just her third game in the Scarlet and Black, Khalia Lark added 10 points and a team-best seven rebounds.

In her first three games as an Aztec following her transfer from Washington prior to the Spring 2015 semester, junior Khalia Lark has made an immediate impact. The Irvine, Calif., native has scored 29 points and grabbed 21 boards in the trio of contests, posting a career-high 14 points and nine rebounds against Biola. She has averaged 26 minutes, the second-most on the team, and made the first start of her career against New Mexico.

This season from 3-point range, senior Kymberly Ellison has had a year to remember. In her first year as a starter, the Columbus, Ga., native has 27 3-pointers to lead the team and rank second in the Mountain West. Nationally, her 2.25 treys per game rank 112th. Ellison is on pace to shatter her previous personal best of 33 three's in a season, set last year when she finished second on the Aztecs.

Nevada has started league play with a 0-2 record and is coming off of a heartbreaking 71-70 defeat to Fresno State, in which the Bulldogs held the Wolf Pack to just nine fourth-quarter points en route to the narrow victory. The Wolf Pack have evolved into one of the best rebounding teams in the conference. The team ranks second in rebounds per game (42.69) and rebound margin (+5.2), and is the Mountain West's best when sent to the free-throw line, in possession of the league's top spot with 206 free throws made for 27th nationally.

San Diego State continues its home Mountain West swing with a game on Sat., Jan 7 at 2:30 p.m. against Boise State.
