Football Wraps Up Wednesday Festivities in Las Vegas

The San Diego State football team wrapped up Wednesday's festivities at the Las Vegas Bowl in Las Vegas.

The Aztecs practiced in the morning at Rebel Park. Following the practice, SDSU head coach Rocky Long, associate head coaches Jeff Horton and Bobby Hauck, and running backs Donnel Pumphrey and Rashaad Penny spoke to the Las Vegas media.

While most of the team practiced, Marcus Stamps, Joe Salcedo, Julian Rochelin, Na'im McGee, Will Stricklin, Turner Bernard, Randy Ricks, Tyler Morris, Kahale Warring, Grady Vazquez and Chad Woolsey visited Opportunity Village. Opportunity Village is a non-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. They are dedicated to helping members of the community with intellectual disabilities become the best they can be through vocational training, community employment, day services and the opportunity to unleash their creative passions.

After an afternoon break, seniors Kwayde Miller and Malik Smith, and coach Long attended a brief media session at Gold Diggers inside the Golden Nugget Hotel. The rest of the team came joined Miller, Smith and Long for a team welcome reception at the Fremont Street Experience. Under the lights of the historical Fremont Street Experience, the teams were welcomed by showgirls and official dignitaries, and enjoyed entertainment and feast at the Outback Steakhouse buffet.

After arriving on Tuesday afternoon, the Aztec players went to Top Golf in the evening, while the coaches and their guests got to go on a helicopter ride flying over the megaresorts of the Las Vegas Strip.

On the docket for Thursday is practice, Goodie Two Shoes Foundation shoe distribution, Town Square Ladies' Day, GameWorks Kids Day and The Linq Promenade Team Walk / Ride the High Roller / Gift Suite.

SDSU (10-3) and Houston (9-3) kick off the Las Vegas Bowl at 12:30 p.m. PT Saturday.
