SAN DIEGO - San Diego State is back in both national polls this week, checking in at No. 24 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 25 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

The Aztecs (9-1, 6-0 MW) have 97 points in the AP poll, up from 38 last week and are ahead of 25th-ranked Troy (63 points). Just ahead of SDSU is Washington State (20th, 501 points), Florida (21st, 435 points), Boise State (22nd, 315 points) and Texas A&M (23rd, 238 points).

It’s the latest San Diego State has been ranked in the AP poll since being ranked 25th on Dec. 2, 1986.

In the Coaches Poll, the Aztecs have 112 points this week after garnering 58 last week (27th most). SDSU is only two points behind North Carolina for 24th (114 points). Washington State is ranked 20th (438 points), while Western Michigan (21st, 431 points), Texas A&M (22nd, 396 points) and Boise State (23rd, 355 points) are also just a few places above San Diego State.

The Aztecs have won 17 straight games against conference opponents, seven straight MW road games, six consecutive overall and 19 of their last 20 contests. Off to its best start since 1977 at 9-1, SDSU travels to Wyoming for its final road game of the regular season at 1:30 p.m. MT Saturday.
