RENO, Nev. - San Diego State rushed for a school-record 474 yards in a 46-16 win at Nevada Saturday night in Reno, Nev.

Rashaad Penny ran for a career-high 208 yards with two touchdowns on just 10 carries (20.8), while Donnel Pumphrey had 198 yards and a touchdown. It was fourth consecutive game that the Aztecs (9-1, 6-0 MW) had a pair of 100-yard rushers and the fifth time in six league games.

Juwan Washington added 70 yards and a touchdown on five carries (14.0 avg.) as SDSU averaged 10.8 yards per attempt for the game, its highest average in a game its Division I history.

Penny got San Diego State on the scoreboard with a 40-yard touchdown run just 2 minutes, 28 seconds (2:28) into the game. The Wolf Pack (3-7, 1-5 MW) answered with an 11-play, 75-yard drive, ending with a Hassan Henderson fumble recovery in the end zone.

The Aztecs scored the next 25 points in the game, starting with a 28-yard field goal by John Baron, a 3-yard touchdown by Donnel Pumphrey, a 6-yard touchdown pass from Christian Chapman to Mikah Holder, a 31-yard field goal by Baron and a 17-yard pass from Chapman to David Wells. Baron, however, had his PAT blocked twice during the run, including one that resulted in a 98-yad PAT return for two points by EJ Muhammad to cut the lead to 32-9.

Penny answered for SDSU with a 72-yard touchdown run to take a 39-9 lead. Ty Gangi connected on a 40-yard touchdown strike to Wyatt Demps early in the fourth quarter to bring Nevada within 23 at 39-16.

Washington, however, broke out a 45-yard touchdown run for the final points of the game.

San Diego State finished with 620 total yards in the game, its most since totaling 632 yards against Hawai'i on Dec. 7, 2002.

It was the Aztecs' 17th consecutive win against a conference opponent, extending their longest active streak in the country, 14th straight in the Pacific Time Zone and 11th consecutive against teams from the Mountain West, West Division.

SDSU continued its best start (9-1) since 1977 and won for the 19th time in 20 games.

San Diego State ended up handing the Wolf Pack its worst home loss (30 points) since a 38-7 loss to Boise State on Nov. 25, 2006.

Pumphrey logged his ninth straight 100-yard game, passing DeAngelo Williams for fourth on the all-time NCAA FBS rushing list in the process, while Penny recorded his fourth 100-yard game (all in the last six games) and became the 20th Aztec in school history with a 200-yard game.

It was SDSU's fourth straight game with a pair of 100-yard rushers, fifth time in six games and 26th time in school history.

Chapman had an efficient game, going 11-for-16 for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

San Diego State broke 40 points for the fourth straight game for the first time since 1990 and held its opponent below 400 yards of total offense for the 21st straight outing.

The Aztecs picked off Nevada quarterback Gangi three times and now leads the country with 19 picks in 10 games.

Parker Baldwin tied a career high with eight tackles and one interception, while setting a career best with three pass breakups, while Damontae Kazee added eight stops and a forced fumble.
