SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State rowing team is set to compete in the Sarasota-Bradenton Chase Race this weekend in Sarasota, Fla. The Aztecs will be the only collegiate rowing team competing in the regatta at the premier 600-acre Nathan Benderson Park, host of the 2017 World Rowing Championships and the 2017 American Athletic Conference Championship.
SDSU was invited to compete in the regatta by the host, the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, and will participate in the head race portion on Saturday, Nov. 5, as well as the 500-meter sprints on Sunday, Nov. 6. The regatta begins at 9 a.m. each day.
The Aztecs are coming off their first exhibition regatta, last weekend’s Row for the Cure at Mission Bay, where they had several boats finish in the top spots in each race.
Results will be posted following the event on www.GoAztecs.com. For more information about the Sarasota-Bradenton Chase Race, please visit https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/?job_id=4908.
