LOGAN, Utah – The San Diego State volleyball team will look to complete a season sweep of Utah State this evening when it faces the Aggies in a match scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. MT (6 pm PT) start at USU's Wayne Estes Center.

The Aztecs prevailed against the Aggies in a hard-fought contest back in Sept. 24 in the conference opener for both teams in San Diego. Down two sets to one, SDSU rallied to win the fourth contest and then squeaked out a two-point decision in the fifth and deciding set.

San Diego State has a record of 12-4 against Utah State over the years including wins in the last five meetings between the schools. The Aggies last victory over San Diego State occurred during the 2013 season, the year that Utah State joined the Mountain West. The Aztecs have a record of 2-1 in Logan including a five-set victory there during the 2015 campaign.

Utah State begins the week with a record of 8-11 overall and 3-5 (seventh place) in the Mountain West. This past weekend the Aggies defeated New Mexico and fell to UNLV at home. Utah State is led by Kaylie Kamalu-Smith (3.52 kps, 1.91 dps) and Lauren Anderson (3.27 kps, 1.13 dps). The duo ranks seventh and ninth respectively in the Mountain West in kills this week.

Sophomore Alexandra Psoma continues to lead the SDSU offense with an average of 3.16 kills per set in all matches, a mark that is just outside the top 10 (11th) in the Mountain West this week. After eight Mountain West matches, she is averaging 3.41 kills per set in league play to rank eighth in the category in conference play.

Setter Indigo Thompson, a sophomore transfer from Virginia Commonwealth, returned to her starting role as the lone setter this past Monday vs. Nevada after the Aztecs had used a 6-2 formation for a trio of matches. Against the Wolf Pack on Monday, she averaged almost 13 assists per set (12.67) in the three-set victory. Thompson's mark of 11.41 assists per set in Mountain West play ranks third in the conference this week.

Danielle Bolden has recorded at least one service ace in seven of the Aztecs' last eight matches. She had a season-high five aces in the win over Utah State on Aztec Court on Sept. 26. Her mark of 0.52 aces per set in conference matches ranks fourth this week while her overall mark of 0.32 aces per set stands seventh in the league stats.

Following tonight's action in Utah, the Aztecs will have a week off to prepare for a two-match home stand that begins with a contest vs. Air Force next Thursday, Oct. 27, at 6:00 p.m. (PT) on Aztec Court.
