STANFORD, Calif. -- The San Diego State women's golf team was unable to complete the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice as standing water on several greens forced the cancellation of the third and final round Sunday at a rain-soaked Stanford Golf Course.
Consequently, all of the second-round scores from Saturday became final, as Aztec junior Georgia Lacey (Del Mar, Calif.) posted her highest finish in a Scarlet and Black uniform with a tie for the runner-up position at 2-under 140 along with Andrea Lee of the host Cardinal.
UCLA's Bronte Law (-7) captured medalist honors at the tournament for the third year in a row to lift the Bruins (+4) to the team title, while Stanford (+15) finished 11 strokes off the pace in second, followed by California (+21), Florida (+22) and USC (+22).
SDSU landed in a tie for 12th with Pepperdine at 35-over 603 after firing a collective 300 during the second round.
The rest of the Aztec delegation was separated by just three shots on the individual leaderboard, including senior Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah), who tied for 62nd with a 12-over 154, while Colorado transfer Natalie Vivaldi (Oceanside, Calif.) posted a 13-over 155 to tie for the 66th position.
In addition, junior Haleigh Krause (Eugene, Ore.) tied for the 73rd spot with a 14-over 156, just ahead of fellow classmate Mila Chaves (Asuncion, Paraguay), who finished in 76th at 15-over 157.
San Diego State wraps up its fall schedule next week when it travels to the Silver State for the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 23-25, at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, Nev.
