San Diego State football will participate in the university's Family Weekend with a slew of promotions for its game against UNLV on Sat., Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the Aztecs rolled out a ticket mini-plan for the start of Mountain West play.
For $100, the Mountain West mini-plan includes seating for San Diego State's conference games against UNLV, San José State, Hawai'i and Colorado State in Qualcomm Stadium's Plaza 5 and 6 sections. Against the Rebels, National Hispanic Heritage Month will be celebrated. Thanks to a collaboration with the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, fans were entitled to a discounted ticket and several members of the local Hispanic community nominated by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be recognized on the field during the game.
In conjunction with the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers program, the San Diego County Teachers of the Year will also be honored during the game.
Prior to the game, the SDSU Cheer and Dance teams will be hosting a clinic from noon to 4 p.m. Participants will attend an instructional clinic, receive admission to the game and two additional game tickets, and will perform on the sidelines during the game. Additionally, the first 1,500 San Diego State students through Gate J will receive a complimentary SDSU flag.
San Diego State is looking for its 11th-straight conference win against UNLV this Saturday following the end of a 13-game win streak at South Alabama. Off to a 3-1 start, the Aztecs have been ranked as high as No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this season, their highest mark since being ranked 16th in the final poll in 1977.
