No. 19/24 San Diego State Heads to South Alabama on Saturday
* San Diego State, one of 27 remaining undefeated FBS teams in 2016, winners of 13 consecutive games and five straight road games, concludes non-conference play with a road game at South Alabama on Saturday in Mobile, Ala. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. CT (5 p.m. PT) start.
* The Aztecs' 13-game win streak is the second-longest active streak nationally (Alabama, 16) and the longest for SDSU since a 21-game winning streak from 1968-70 under legendary coach Don Coryell.
* San Diego State's five-game road winning streak is tied for the ninth-longest active streak nationally (Ohio State, 19), and is the longest by an Aztec squad since winning 19 straight contests from Oct. 30, 1965 through Nov. 7, 1970 (broken on Sept. 25, 1971).
* During the 13-game winning streak, SDSU has outscored its opponents 476-189 (36.6-14.5), with only two games decided by less than 14 points. San Diego State has not trailed in a game this season and has trailed a total of 19:05 during the 13-game win streak.
* The Aztecs have opened a campaign 3-0 for the first time since 2011 and just the second time in the last 35 seasons. The last time SDSU opened 4-0 was 1981.
* Monday marked the one-year anniversary of San Dieg State's last defeat. The Aztecs' last loss came on Sept. 26, 2015 at Penn State.
* SDSU jumped from No. 22 to No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25 this week. San Diego State is enjoying its second consecutive week in the AP poll after snapping a drought of 341 consecutive polls without appearance on Sept. 19. This is the Aztecs' highest ranking since the final poll of the 1977 campaign.
* SDSU has a plus-26 turnover margin in its last 12 games and has owned an edge in the category in 11 of its last 12 games.
* Despite coming off of a bye week, Donnel Pumphrey leads the nation in rushing yards and rushing yards per game this season. The senior has recorded consecutive games with more than 200 yards, including a 220-yard, three-touchdown effort in his last game at NIU.
* Pumphrey had just two fourth quarter carries against the Huskies, but he made them count. A native of Las Vegas, Pumphrey was not tackled in the fourth quarter, posting the following numbers: two carries, 112 yards and two touchdowns. In three games this season, Pumphrey has 16 carries, 198 yards, 12.4 ypc and three touchdowns in the final quarter.
* Pumphrey has two of the top-eight rushing games this season, including No. 1 (281 vs. California) and No. 8 (tied) (220 at NIU).
* Over the last two games, Pumphrey has compiled 501 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 52 attempts (9.6 avg.).
* Pumphrey is the first back in the nation to rush for more than 500 yards in a two-game period since OU's Samaje Perine did it in 2014.
* SDSU faces South Alabama in a "revenge game." The Aztecs have won their last four revenge games, including a win over Cal. this season.
