Big Notes
• San Diego State claimed its 13th consecutive victory, it is the second-longest active win streak nationally (Alabama, 14 entering today's game vs. Ole Miss) and the longest in school history since a 21-game streak from 1968-70.
• The Aztecs won their fifth consecutive road game, the longest road win streak for the Aztecs since winning 19 straight contests from Oct. 30, 1965 through Nov. 7, 1970 (broken on Sept. 25, 1971).
• SDSU opened a campaign 3-0 for the first time since 2011 and just the second time in the last 35 seasons.
• San Diego State's win over Northern Illinois is just the third home loss in its last 38 home games. The Huskies dropped to 35-3 at home since Oct. 3, 2009.
• The Aztecs handed Northern Illinois its first non-conference home loss since Sept. 26, 2009. The Huskies had won nine consecutive non-conference home games, outscoring the opposition by 176 points during the streak.
• With a bye next Saturday, SDSU has guaranteed itself more than a calendar year between defeats. San Diego State's last loss came on Sept. 26, 2015 at Penn State, while the Aztecs' next game is Oct. 1, 2016 at South Alabama.
• This marks the first time SDSU has ended the month of September unbeaten since the 1981 squad went 2-0 through the first full month of the season.
• San Diego State claimed victory in the Central Time Zone for the first time since winning at Kansas on Sept. 25, 1999.
• 11 of the 13 Aztec wins during the streak have come by at least 14 points.
• During SDSU's 13-game winning streak, it has outscored the opposition, 482-189. That is an average of 37.1-14.5.
• The Aztecs won their 25th straight game when rushing for at least 200 yards and are now 33-2 in the Rocky Long era when reaching at least 200 yards.

• San Diego State shut out its opponent in the first quarter for the 11th time over the last 17 games.
• The Aztecs outscored Northern Illinois, 28-7 in the first half and has now outscored the opposition, 276-80, in the first half over its 13-game winning streak.
• The Aztecs have a rushing touchdown in 15 straight games (39 total) and in 25 of their last 26 games, and 12 straight with multiple rushing scores (36 total).
• SDSU improved to 28-3 over its last 31 games when recording at least two rushing touchdowns.

• The Aztecs held an opponent scoreless on their opening drive for the 13th time over the last 14 games.
• San Diego State has at least 14 points in four straight first quarters and in seven of the last eight first quarters.

• Scored his fifth, sixth and seventh rushing touchdowns of the season and now has 52 for his career. Also scored his fifth, sixth and seventh overall touchdown of the year and now has 57 for his career.
• He now has six career games with at least three rushing touchdowns (SDSU is 6-0 in those games).
• SDSU improved to 24-7 when he scores at least one rushing touchdown and 12-2 when he has multiple rushing scores.
* Christian Chapman, So., QB (11-for-19, 126 yds., 3 TD, 1 INT)
• Was 11-for-19 with a career-high three touchdowns and 126 yards in his fifth career start.
• Became the first Aztec with three touchdown passes in a game since Maxwell Smith threw three vs. Wyoming on Nov. 14, 2015.
• Improved to 5-0 as a starting quarterback.
• Now has six touchdown passes on the season and eight for his career.
* Rashaad Penny, Jr., RB (14 att., 65 yds. | 2 rec., 37 yds., 1 TD)
• Rushed 14 times for 65 yards, while adding two catches for 37 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown reception.
• Scored a touchdown for the seventh straight game. He has eight touchdowns over that span, including four rushing, two receiving and two kick return.
• Now has four touchdowns on the year (two receiving, one rushing, one kick return) and 12 for his career (five rushing, four kick return, three receiving).
* Mikah Holder, Jr, WR (4 rec., 67 yds., 1 TD)
• Caught four passes for 67 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown.

• Had a team-high 10 tackles, the sixth time he has led the team in stops.
• Recorded his fourth career game with double-digit tackles.
* Tanner Blain, Sr., P (5 punts, 212 yds. (42.4 avg.), 4 I20)
• Punted five times for 212 yards, averaging 42.4 yards per boot with a career-high-tying four inside the 20.
• Ended up with four punts inside the 7-yard line, including three inside the 5.
• Also added a season-long 52-yarder.
• Coming into the game, he had only two inside the 15-yard line (10 and 12)
