KINGSTON, R.I. - For the second day in a row, the San Diego State volleyball team recovered from a 2-1 set deficit to post a five-set victory at the Art Carmichael Invitational in Kingston, R.I. Saturday afternoon it was Stony Brook that was the victim as the Aztecs rallied to defeat the Seawolves by set scores of 25-19, 18-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-7.

The win over Stony Brook came on the heels of a three-set loss (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) at the hands of Notre Dame earlier in the day as SDSU evened its season record at 5-5.

In the victory against the Seawolves, Deja Harris led the Aztecs with 19 kills, three blocks and a .643 hitting percentage.

Harris was one of four SDSU players to finish the match in double figures in kills as she was joined by Alexandra Psoma (13), Alexis Cage (12) and Hannah Turnlund (11).

In addition, senior libero Danielle Bolden set a career best with 23 digs over the five sets while setter Indigo Thompson established her SDSU career high with 43 assists.

For their performances over the course of the Invitational, both Harris and Thompson received all-tournament recognition at the conclusion of play Saturday evening.

Trailing after three sets, the Aztecs controlled the latter stages of the fourth set to win the contest and send the match to a fifth and deciding game. San Diego State continued its comeback in that fifth set as it jumped out to a 6-0 lead that was aided by two kills by Harris and one from Psoma. The closest Stony Brook would get the rest of the way was five points (at 10-5) as the Aztecs locked up the match victory with an eight-point set win.

In the earlier match against the Fighting Irish, SDSU committed 25 errors during the three-set encounter and it proved too much to overcome as it hit just .115 as a team.

Psoma led San Diego state with a dozen kills and also had eight digs while Turnlund added 10 kills and seven digs.

Thompson added 30 assists while Bolden ended the contest with 12 digs.

San Diego state will now return home to prepare for the visit of UC Santa Barbara with that match scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16, at 7:00 p.m. on Aztec Court.
