SAN DIEGO -- Girls lacrosse players in grades 8 through 12 will have a chance to experience Aztec lacrosse up close when San Diego State hosts the fifth annual Aztec Warrior Challenge at Aztec Lacrosse Field on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will close at 9 a.m. A stick work clinic will follow for 30 minutes prior to the start a five-on-five tournament, which will ultimately crown the Weekend Warrior champion. Prizes will be awarded to the first and second-place teams. The five-on-five games will last seven minutes with a running clock and will be played on one side of the field. Each team is guaranteed 10 rounds/games.
Participants can register as teams of five to 10 field players and one goalie, or as an individual placed on a house team to be assigned at check-in. Enrollment for the event closes on Sunday, Oct. 23. The cost per player is $50. To register, click here.

San Diego State played the most difficult schedule in program history last season, facing the likes of No. 2/2 North Carolina, No. 11/10 Stony Brook, No. 7/8 USC and No. 12/8 Stanford, before finishing with a 4-11 record overall and a 3-6 mark in conference play. In preparation for the 2017 campaign, the Aztecs open their fall competition slate in early October.
