LIVE RESULTS

Current San Diego State sophomore Ashley Henderson and former athlete Kristen Brown each advanced in their event Friday at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.

Henderson, the 2016 NCAA runner-up in the 100-meter dash, ran a time of 23.52 seconds today in the third heat of the 200 meters. Her time was the third fastest in the heat and good enough to automatically move onto Saturday's semifinal heats, which are slated for a 5:03 p.m. PT start.

Brown, a seven-time Mountain West track and field champion, tied for 11th in the pole vault in the qualifying rounds with a mark of 14 feet, 3 ¼ inches (4.35m) to advance to Sunday's final flight. Brown passed at the opening height of 13-11.25 (4.25m) and cleared 14-03.25 (4.35m) on her first attempt before missing three times at 14-05.25 (4.40m). The finals are set for 2:30 p.m. PT Sunday.

Both Henderson and Brown will have to finish among the top three in their event to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics and join former Aztecs Whitney Ashley (discus throw) and Shanieka Thomas (triple jump).

Allison Reaser will also be in action Saturday at the trials. Reaser, a current SDSU volunteer coach and six-time national championship qualifier, starts her two-day heptathlon at 12:30 p.m. PT Saturday.
